Turkey Bhoona
Continuing my Indian feast, a turkey bhoona. Again thanks to the Ashoka Cookbook for inspiration.
For this you will need the following ingredients:
- Vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped garlic
- 3g fresh chopped ginger
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- salt
- 450g diced turkey (or pretty much whatever meat you fancy)
- 150g chopped tomatoes
- 125ml water
Heat a little oil in a pan and add the garlic and ginger. Stir fry until the garlic starts turning light brown then add the onion and continue stirring until it turns golden brown.
Add the chilli powder, ground coriander, ground turmeric and a little salt and continue stirring for a further 5 minutes.
Add the meat and cook for about 10 minutes then add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a further 5 minutes. Slowly add the water and continue stirring to mash the tomatoes. Simmer for a further 5 minutes.
And that is basically that π You should end up with what you see at the top. Serve with rice and some coriander for garnishing.
